Seera’s net profit down 38% in H1 2019

Seera Group Holding reported a net profit of SAR 115 million for H1 2019, down 37.84 percent year-on-year (YoY) due to a 6 percent revenue decline as the company did not renew its contract with the Ministry of Education.

Net profit in Q2 2019 dropped 35.92 percent YoY to SAR 66 million driven by lower revenue on non-renewal of the ministry of education’s contract. The company also reported a 13 percent increase in total operating expenses, in addition to higher selling and administrative expenses.

On a quarterly basis, Q2 2019 net profit increased 34.69 percent, driven by a 5 percent rise in revenue on seasonality factors.

“Our transformation strategy continues to drive our financial performance – with particular focus on online consumer travel which grew at 70 percent,” Abdullah Aldawood, CEO at Seera Group said.

“The group will continue growing its market share, customer network and supplier network, building increasingly higher barriers for competition by investing in its omni channel consumer offerings, digital travel management solutions for government & corporate travel solutions, and Hajj & Umrah products,” he added.
