Al-Ahsa Development reports 2014 net loss of SAR 39.3 mln

Al-Ahsa Development Company reported 2014 net loss of SAR 39.3 million, compared to a net profit of SAR 16 million for the same period last year.

A net loss of SAR 22.5 million was reported for Q4-2014 compared to a net profit of SAR 12.8 million for Q3.

The company attributed reporting a net loss for 2014 compared to a net profit for the same period last year to:

-         Investment impairment loss of SAR 3.8 million for the companies affiliates.

-         Held for sale assets loss by SAR 31.8 million

-         Decline in good will market value by SAR 6 million

-         Realizing a loss of SAR 13.6 million from the revaluation of securities held for trading.

-         Investment loss of SAR 8.2 million from affiliates’ income and securities.

-         Increase of provisions and expenses.

 

Reporting a net loss for Q4-2014 compared to a net profit for the same period last year was attributed to:

-         Realizing a loss of SAR 13.6 million from the revaluation of securities held for trading.

-         The decline of company’s share in affiliates’ income by SAR 5.9 million.

-         Decline in good will market value by SAR 6 million.

-         Increase of provisions and expenses.

 

The company attributed Q4-2014’s net loss compared to the previous quarter (Q3-2014) to:

-         Decline in good will market value by SAR 6 million

-         Decline of gains realized on sale of available for trade investments by SAR 19.2 million.

-         Increase of provisions and expenses.
