Sipchem’s 9M profit soars to SAR 273 mln on higher prices

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem), which produces methanol and its derivatives, reported a net profit of SAR 273 million for the first nine months of 2017, compared to a net profit of SAR 11.2 million in the same period last year.

 

The profit rise was mainly attributed to an increase in average selling prices and sales volumes for most of the company’s products.

In the third quarter, Sipchem swung to a net profit of SAR 121.6 million, compared to a net loss of SAR 49.4 million in Q3 2016, backed by higher average selling prices.

 

Q3 net profit more than doubled when compared to the previous quarter.
