L’Azurde H1 net profit falls by 35%

L’Azurde Company for Jewelry, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest jewelers, reported a net profit of SAR 28.4 million for the first half of 2017, a 35.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) drop attributed to lower operating revenue and the SAR 12.5 million one-off FX gain last year.

In Q2 2017, the company swung to a net profit of SAR 6.4 million, compared to a net loss of SAR 7 million, backed by the one-off IFRS adjustments of SAR 28.5 million that led to a decline in gross margins in the second quarter of 2016.

 

The Q2 profit plunged 70.8 percent compared to the previous quarter profit, on the back of seasonal factors.
