Saudi Steel Pipe incurs SAR 42 mln loss in H1

Saudi Steel Pipe Co. reported SAR 41.86 million losses for the first half of 2018, versus net profit of SAR 17.90 million in H1 2017, driven by an asset impairment of SAR 21 million in an affiliate, losses sustained from subsidiaries in addition to a slow-moving inventory provision of SAR 6.7 million. The company also cited lower profit margins despite a 15 percent rise in sales.

On a sequential basis, the steel pipes producer widened Q2 net losses more than seven times.
