Saudi Arabia and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of geology and mineral resources, on the sidelines of the Future of Minerals Forum in Riyadh.

 

The two countries will form a working group with representatives from Russia’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to implement the MoU, Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, told Argaam on the sidelines of the forum.

 

The two groups will work to develop mutual cooperation in fields, including geological research, regional geology, geological mapping, study and development of mineral resources, the use of geophysical methods to identify mineral resources and groundwater, mineral resources assessment, and monitoring the state of the earth, in addition to the organizational support in training employees and professional staff, the minister added.
