National Unified Procurement Co. (NUPCO) signed today, Oct. 29, a preliminary agreement with Sudair Pharmaceutical Co. and Sanofi, to localize the insulin industry in the Kingdom.

 

The agreement was signed during the Global Health Exhibition held in Riyadh, in partnership with the Local Content & Government Procurement Authority and the Government Expenditure & Projects Efficiency Authority, to activate the contracting method for the localization of the industry and transfer of knowledge.

 

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef said the ministry aims to localize 80-90% of the Kingdom’s insulin needs, stressing the ministry’s keenness to attract qualitative investments to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector and export to foreign markets.
