National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) produces about 10% of the global output of titanium, Al Arabiya TV reported, citing CEO Mutlaq Al-Morished.

He stated that the company supplies nearly 15,500 tons of titanium, compared to global production, which ranges between 150,000 and 160,000 tons.

Titanium is an important and strategic material, as it is light and three times stronger than iron.

The metal is used for aircraft, nuclear submarines, missiles, and satellites, in addition to medical uses such as prosthetics manufacturing.

Al-Morished pointed out that Tasnee’s titanium products are approved by the aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus.

The Saudi mining sector was "almost absent", but the Kingdom is now keen on attracting investments in the sector, he said.
