Saudi Arabia suspends flights from 7 African countries on new COVID-19 variant concerns

Saudi Arabia announced today, Nov. 26, suspending flights from seven African countries on new COVID-19 variant concerns, according to the Ministry of Interior.  

 

The Kingdom suspended flights from and to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, and Eswatini. 

 

It also suspended entry for non-Saudis coming directly or indirectly from the aforementioned countries. The decision excludes those who spent no less than 14 days in another country, which is not on the Kingdom’s ban list.
