Saudi health ministry denies cancelling second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Saudi Arabia is not planning to cancel the administration of the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines, the Ministry of Health spokesman Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly said.

 

In a press conference held today, May 23, 2021, he stated that the second dose is only delayed with the aim of vaccinating larger number of individuals to increase their immunity level. 

 

The total number of doses of COVID-19 vaccines given to citizens and residents through more than 590 centers across the Kingdom reached 12.82 million, Al-Abd Al-Aly noted.
