Saudi Arabia’s decision on imposing COVID-19 curfew depends on society, Interior Ministry Spokesperson Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub said in the COVID-19 briefing.

Violations of precautionary measures increased by 72%, Al-Shalhoub added, noting that the ministry is still monitoring more violations.

The security authorities continue to clamp down on all violators.

Meanwhile, Al-Shalhoub warned of rumor circulation and publication of false information on social networks about the coronavirus pandemic, adding that penalties include a fine of almost SAR 1 million or imprisonment for a period of one to five years.
