Almarai's H1 profit rises 6% to SAR 1 bln

Almarai Company, one of the largest poultry and dairy producers in the Gulf region, reported a net profit of SAR 1 billion in the first half of 2017, a 5.9 percent rise year-on-year (YoY) attributed to lower cost of sales and commodities, along with a decline in selling, general and administrative expenses.

The company’s net profit for the second quarter rose by 2.4 percent YoY at SAR 674 million due to lower cost of sales, improved production efficiency, and better cost management. 

 

When compared to the previous quarter, Q2 2017 net profit surged 105.3 percent, from SAR 328 million. Revenue in Q2 rose 11.1 percent due to the seasonal effect of the holy month of Ramadan.
