Yemen’s Houthi rebels targeted Saudi Arabia's Abha airport today morning, injuring 26 civilian passengers, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the Arab Coalition spokesperson.
“A hostile projectile fired by Houthi militia hit the arrival halls at Abha International Airport, through which thousands of passengers from different nationalities pass daily,” Arab coalition spokesperson Colonel Turki Almalki said.
“Those injured belong to different nationalities, including three women from Yemen, India and Saudi Arabia, and two children. Eight people have been admitted to hospital and 18 treated for minor injuries,” he added.
He also noted that that airport lounge faced some ‘physical damage.’

Houthi-backed Al Masirah TV made the announcement and claimed the rebels had targeted the airport with a cruise missile.
“Saudi Arabia's military and security forces are working to determine the type of rocket that was used during the attack,” Col Almalki said.
He also noted that the attack on the airport proves that the rebels have a sophisticated weapon and the Iranian regime continues to support cross-border terrorism.
“In the face of the Houthi militia’s terrorist attacks as well as its violations, the coalition will take urgent and timely measures to deter the terrorist militia in order to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian objects,” Col Almalk added.
