Saudi housing ministry’s Sakani program delivered 1,576 free-of-charge land plots across the Kingdom to beneficiaries in May 2019, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The ministry aims to encourage residents to develop the land, as well as build more homes.
Geographically, 99 free land plots were given to eligible locals in Riyadh, 567 in Makkah, 237 in Najran, 71 in the Northern Borders, 263 in Asir and 22 land plots in Qassim.
Sakani also delivered 14 residential land plots in Al Baha; 20 in the Eastern Province; 6 in Al Jouf; and 1 land plot in Tabuk.
As for Madinah, the total number of residential land plots handed to beneficiaries reached 181 land plots, while 51 plots were delivered in Jazan, and 44 in Hail.
