Tadawul’s negotiated deals in May 2019 alone exceed total 2018 amount

The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) witnessed the execution of 389 negotiated deals during May 2019 on 312.98 million shares at a total amount of SAR 14.7 billion, data compiled by Argaam showed.

 

This value surpassed the SAR 5.71 billion worth of transactions registered during Q1 2019, and also exceeded the 2018 total transactions amounting to SAR 10 billion.

 

This month Tadawul saw the first phase of Saudi Arabia’s inclusion in MSCI Emerging Markets Index and the listing of 30 Saudi securities as of the close on May 28.

The transactions took place on the shares of 49 listed companies. SABIC topped the list in terms of transaction value with SAR 2.86 billion, followed by Al Rajhi Bank  (SAR 2.81 billion), and National Commercial Bank (SAR 1.83 billion).

 

In terms of transaction volume, Dar Al Arkan saw the trading of 46.04 million shares. It was followed by Al Rajhi Bank with 41.05 million shares and National Commercial Bank with 33.02 million shares.
