Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has donated SAR 50 million in the first phase of the restoration of old buildings in the historical sites of ancient Jeddah, Saudi Press Agency has reported.

The donation by the Crown Prince to rehabilitate these parts of Jeddah falls in line with UNESCO's prerequisites to enlist ancient Jeddah on the World Heritage List, in compatibility with the Vision 2030.

In his directive, Prince Mohammed instructed that the restoration project shall be done by Saudi nationals, under well experienced supervisors specialized in the domain, to keep the distinctive face of ancient Jeddah and its unique architectural features that reflect troves of edifices that go back to over 500-year old in history.
