Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced a joint aid package
for Sudan totaling $3 billion, of which $500 million will be deposited in the Central Bank
of Sudan.
The deposit will be used to bolster the African country’s financial conditions, ease the pressure on the pound and achieve greater stability in the exchange rate, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
The remaining funds will be used to fulfill the urgent needs of food, medicine and oil derivatives.
