Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has eased the permits procedures for information and communication technology (ICT) investments, the telecom regulator said in a statement.
The move, launched in partnership with Tayseer committee, has eased the procedures of obtaining licenses type B, aiming to raise networks efficiency, promote telecom business, and create investment and job opportunities.
Under the new regulations, bank guarantees were cancelled for obtaining 12 licenses, and four commercial activities will be getting immediate licensing.
Automating the procedures of ICT investments, linking to Meras portal, and issuing the investor’s guide will positively impact the Saudi business environment, CITC deputy governor for regulation and competition Mohammed bin Saudi Al-Tamimi said.
