Integrated Telecom Co. (ITC) won the license to offer fixed telecom services with infrastructure across the Kingdom, the Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said on Wednesday.
Accordingly, the Data Service Providers (DSP) license, issued in March 2005, was changed to fixed-line services with infrastructure.
ITC will provide fixed telecommunications services throughout the Kingdom and to participate in the broadband deployment initiative, to further deploy fixed telecommunications services.
The license aims to enhance infrastructure, increase the deployment of broadband services and efficiency of the landline sector. It also seeks to enhance competitiveness in the fixed telecommunications service (voice and data) sector, provide multiple options for users, and upgrade the ICT sector.
