In an effort to grow its cultural landscape, Saudi Arabia is offering residency to international artists, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Culture said during an event in Riyadh on Wednesday.
The residency scheme, part of the ministry’s strategy announced in the event, will include art prizes and cultural funds for artists, Arab news reported.
“Our goal is to give the Saudi arts and culture scene a new voice, to reinforce its identity, maintain its traditions and develop it in a way that encourages Saudi talents to create works of art that will make our nation proud,” Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud said in the event.
The launch of the Kingdom's first dedicated #MinistryOfCulture will support and enable a vibrant ecosystem to flourish and contribute to the objectives of #SaudiVision2030.
