Prices of 80 goods and services in Saudi Arabia increased year-on-year (YoY) in February 2019, while prices of 78 commodities declined, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
Out of the total of 88 food products, prices of 43 items rose YoY for the month, while prices of other 43 products declined.
Figs saw the biggest drop at 27 percent YoY, while prices of local medium potatoes jumped the most by 16 percent YoY.
As for non-food commodities, the prices of 7 items dropped in February, while 8 other goods rose.
The prices of 9 services rose last month compared to February 2018, while 4 services saw their prices lower.
Prices of six fodder and livestock products increased in the same month.
Meanwhile, prices of 23 construction materials declined for the month, while 14 materials increased. Concrete 350k prices saw the least increase at 0.6 percent, while the prices of rebar 10mm decreased 2.99 percent.
