Saudi Arabia has announced several infrastructure projects worth billions of dollars in the Jazan area besides the development of Abha Airport project and setting up of a 1,000-bed medical centre in Asir region.
This includes construction of the Asir-Jazan Road at a cost of SAR 6 billion besides the expansion of the Jeddah-Jazan Coastal Road for SAR 4 billion and the Abha Airport development project, according to a statement from the Saudi Transport Ministry.
These projects were unveiled by Prince Turki Bin Talal, the Emir of the Asir region, at a key ceremony held in the kingdom.
Also plans were announced to set up a 1,000-bed King Faisal Medical City in Asir. The facility boasts a specialized hospital, cardiac center, tumor center and a unit for neurological sciences, in addition to specialty centers for children from the Asir, Baha, Najran and Jazan regions, it added.
