Al Yamamah Steel to launch solar plant operations in Q2 2019

Al Yamamah Steel Industries Company will launch commercial operations at Al Yamamah Solar Power Systems plant in Q2 2019, the company said in a bourse filing.

 

The plant will manufacture the steel structure system, to be used in the tracking system of CSP (Concentrated Solar Plant) in Dubai Solar Park Project - Phase IV.

 

Al Yamamah yesterday signed a contract with Spain’s Europea de Construcciones Metalicas S.A. to supply solar steel structures to Dubai Solar Park Project - Phase IV.

 

Under the four-year contract, valued at $106.7 million (SAR 400.3 million), the steel manufacturer will deliver the required structures as of September 2019 for an extendable period of 26 months.
