State-owned Saudi Aramco has awarded major contracts to two consortiums to carry out the engineering and construction works at King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries & Services in Ras Al Khair, according to a company statement.
A Chinese consortium, comprising Sinohydro Hydropower Engineering Company and SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCO), will conduct the engineering works, while another consortium formed of Sinohydro’s branch and SEPCO Arabia will build and prepare the industrial areas in the complex.
Previous contracts signed with a consortium, comprised Saudi Archirodon Company and Huta Hegerfeld Saudia Company, for implementing the infrastructure works as well as Khonaini International Company for designing and implementing the administrative and residential buildings.
The maritime complex is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), UAE-based Lamprell plc, and South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.
