Saudi cement producers are mulling over exporting output to East Asian markets due to saturation in the regional markets, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper has reported, citing Saleh Al Solami, Secretary General, Saudi Exports Development Authority.
“We are ready to help all Saudi cement companies to overcome the challengers they encounter while exporting cement to foreign countries and accessing new markets via the Saudi exports’ financing initiative,” Al Solami added.
Cement exports improved last year, Al Solami noted, expecting them to witness a new rally this year, backed by new markets.
Last February, Saudi Arabia cancelled the cement export tariffs, Argaam reported. In January, the Saudi ministry of commerce and investment issued 41 cement export licenses.
