UAE signs defense deals worth nearly AED 5 bln on first day of IDEX

The UAE armed forces awarded AED 4.971 billion in contracts to national and international companies, on the first day of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX 2019, and Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition, NAVDEX 2019 being held in Abu Dhabi, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Sunday.

 

Out of a total of 33 deals signed on the first day, national companies received 18, while the remaining 15 were awarded to international companies.

 

The value of total contracts awarded to international companies stood AED 3.867 billion, while that to the UAE companies was AED 1.104 billion.
