Saudi Arabia inks MoUs to develop the entertainment sector

Turki Al Sheikh, chairman of General Entertainment Authority (GEA) signed a number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in London with a group of entities.

 

These MoUs are part of the Kingdom’s efforts to expand the entertainment segment, in coordination with the world-class professionals and operators, GEA said in a statement.

 

The MoUs comprise live performances, touring theme parks and outdoor cinemas.

 

An MoU was signed with Flying Music Co. to organize a number of global theatrical shows and another one was inked with British magician Steven Frayne, popularly known as Dynamo. Other deals were inked with The Works Co., Luna Cinema and 1001 Inventions to present touring educational exhibitions.

 

Agreements were signed with Design Lab Experience and TeamPartner Three to organize touring theatres. Also MoUs were signed with Durrat Arriyadh and Durrat Al Arus to utilize their infrastructure and facilities for entertainment events.

 

As for television shows, Al Sheikh signed an MoU with the Police Academy and the Ultimate Soldier Challenge. Other MoUs were sealed with Ferrari Festival and Mellors Group to present interactive public parades and touring theme parks.

 

Agreements also included Insomnia to organize one of the largest video game exhibitions in the world; DOTA2 to organize a festival featuring the famous game; Merlin Entertainment, which owns the popular Madame Tussauds wax museums; and IMG to organize The Color Run race in the Kingdom.
