Saudi Arabia saw the completion of oil projects worth $9.2 billion year-on-year in 2018, according to figures published by MEED.
The total value of gas projects stood at $3.7 billion, compared to $2.8 billion completed in 2017.
A total of $44.7 billion worth of projects were completed last year, 17 percent less than 2017. While the energy sectors saw an increase, significant declines were seen in the water, transport, industrial projects and construction sectors.
With a budget of $4 billion, package 1 for the new terminal at Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz International airport was the largest project completed over the 2017-18 period, MEED said.
