GACA launches initiatives to boost Saudi aviation sector

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) launched eight initiatives to boost the aviation and logistics services in the Kingdom, it said in a statement.

 

The initiatives are part of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), the statement added.

 

The initiatives are as follows:

 

1) Construction and expansion of airports to meet the growth projections

 

2) Achieving the highest levels of aviation safety, including full compliance with international safety standards

 

3) Increasing the capacity of air cargo services

 

4) Developing the navigation systems and procedures in order to increase Saudi airspace efficiency

 

5) Applying best practices for flight scheduling, domestic air tickets, and public service obligation (PSO) support

 

6) Supporting Saudi airlines, including new ones, to boost employment in the sector

 

7) Implementing the best international practices in technology and innovation to improve the sector performance and customer experience

 

8) Improving the overall customer experience at airports
