Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corp. (SWCC) is expected to pick financial advisers for the privatization of its plants in 45 days, CNBC Arabia reported, citing Abdurahman AlZoghaibi, advisor to the minister of environment, water and agriculture for privatization and investment.
“The privatization program reached an advanced stage,” AlZoghaibi said.
In 2016, the Saudi government announced revealed plans to privatize the Kingdom’s second-largest power provider, which operates nearly 30 desalination plants and currently produces about 20 percent of the world's desalinated water.
