Foreign investors – including strategic partners – raised their ownership in the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) by 0.12 percent, to 4.93 percent, in the week ending Jan. 17, 2019, new market data show.
Non-founding foreign investors – namely swap holders, residents, qualified foreign investors (QFIs) – accounted for 1.77 percent of total ownership in Tadawul, compared to 1.68 percent in the previous week.
Non-founding foreign investors’ ownership exceeded 2 percent in the period from April to October 2018, ahead of declining in November.
Founding foreign investors accounted for 3.16 percent of total foreign ownership in the same period.
On the other hand, GCC investors cut their ownership to 1.99 percent in the week ending Jan. 17, from 2 percent in the previous week.
GCC investors' ownership saw a gradual decrease in 2017 to 2.40 percent in April, ahead of dropping to 2.06 percent in average last year.
