Saudi Arabia’s auto imports down 10% in 2018

Saudi Arabia’s auto imports dropped by 9.5 percent, or 44,100 cars year-on-year (YoY) to 419,550 cars in 2018, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Issa al-Issa, the official spokesperson of Saudi Customs Authority.

 

Also, the value of imported cars retreated by 7 percent YoY to SAR 33.25 billion last year.

 

Cars were imported from nine destinations including Japan (105,100 cars valued at SAR 9.93 billion), South Korea (89,200 cars at a total value of SAR 5.35 billion) and USA (58,200 cars worth SAR 6.44 billion)

 

Other import destinations included India, China, Thailand, Germany, UK and Indonesia.
