Al Rajhi, Aljazira held 32% share of local equity brokerage market in 2018

Al Rajhi Capital was the top brokerage firm operating in Saudi Arabia by market share (volume of transactions) in 2018, data compiled by Argaam show.

 

The brokerage accounted for 20.26 percent (SAR 352.9 billion) of total market transactions on Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) during the year.

 

Aljazira Capital came second, accounting for 11.54 percent (SAR 200.9 billion) of total trading activity, followed by NCB Capital with 10.50 percent, or SAR 182.9 billion. 

 

The combined trading value handled by all brokerage firms operating in Saudi Arabia grew by SAR 69 billion year-on-year (YoY) to hit SAR 1.74 trillion in 2018.

 

On the Nomu Parallel Market, Al Rajhi Capital also came on top, handling SAR 137.38 million worth of transactions.

 

Aljazira Capital took the second place with SAR 96.38 million.

 

Meanwhile, the number of brokerages facilitating the trading of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in 2018 amounted to 16 firms.

 

Falcom Financial Services led the market by a 99.35 percent (SAR 2.41 billion) market share.

 

Nine brokerages facilitated bond and sukuk trading, executing transactions worth SAR 789 million during the year.
