Profile: Meet Hamad Al-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Education

Hamad Al-Sheikh was appointed on Dec. 27, 2018 as Saudi Arabia's Minister of Education as part of the cabinet reshuffle ordered by King Salman.

 

He holds MBA in business, marketing from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business. He has also obtained PhD in philosophy and MS in planning and development from Stanford University, California.

 

He holds B.Sc. in administrative sciences, King Saud University.

 

Al-Sheikh has been the Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Ceramic Company since October 3, 2016.

 

Al-Sheikh worked in the Institute for Public Administration (IPA), Saudi Ceramics Co and was the vice president for marketing & programs at Saudi Commission for Tourism and Heritage (SCTH).

 

He has served as a royal court adviser since June 2017.

 

He also served as Vice Minister of Education from December 2011 to April 2015.

 

He worked as a professor, chairman, dean and vice rector at King Saud University between 1996 and 2011.
