Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) is planning to tender projects worth SAR 100 billion over the next five years, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday, citing operations development analyst Muhannad Al-Malki.
The new investments cover the supply, transmission and distribution sectors.
Local investors can apply for the tender on the company’s website, Al-Malki said during a workshop held today in Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
Local manufacturers are privileged with a 10 percent discount in the tender price, as compared to foreign peers.
The utility has 9 million subscribers and aims to provide power supply to 2.3 million new customers by 2021, he added.
