The 13th annual Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Forum kicked off today, Nov. 27, at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.
The three-day event, titled “Executing transformation and investing in growth”, brings together distinguished speakers and senior industry leaders to network, exchange best practices and examine strategies, case studies and the steps required to enhance their transformational journeys.
“Chemical industry lags behind in digitization,” HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Oil Minister, said in his opening session in the forum.
“This is an exciting time for the GCC region’s chemical and petrochemical businesses. It can become a key driver of the region’s diversification efforts,” Amin Nasser, president and CEO of Saudi Aramco, said in his keynote speech.
In addition, Yousef Al-Benyan, vice chairman and CEO of SABIC and chairman of GPCA, delivered the welcome address at the forum.
The forum will also host the ninth edition of GPCA’s Leaders of Tomorrow program, a platform that provides university and college students engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) an opportunity to learn through close interaction with industry leaders.
