Prices of 34 goods and services in Saudi Arabia decreased year-on-year (YoY) in October, while prices of 125 commodities rose, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
Out of the total of 88 food products, prices of 16 items declined YoY for the month, while prices of other 71 products increased.
Chinese garlic saw the biggest drop at 19 percent YoY, while prices of eggs jumped the most by 31 percent YoY.
As for non-food commodities, the prices of 13 items increased in October, with laundry detergent rising the most by 11 percent, while two other goods dropped.
The prices of 10 services rose last month compared to October 2017, while three services saw their prices drop.
Prices of most fodder and livestock products increased in October.
Meanwhile, prices of 10 construction materials declined for the month, while 27 materials increased. Concrete 350k prices saw the biggest drop of 4.40 percent, while the prices of Rebar 10mm rose the most by 15.21 percent.
