Energy engineering and construction giant, TechnipFMC, broke ground on its new manufacturing, aftermarket and training facility in Dhahran in Saudi Arabia, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The 52,500 square meters facility expands TechnipFMC’s footprint in Saudi Arabia with a major investment and 140 new jobs focusing on local talents, the statement read.

“We are increasing our capacity to meet the challenge of the upcoming rise in activity planned within Saudi Aramco,” Richard Alabaster, TechnipFMC Surface Technologies president, said.

“We want to have the capabilities in-country to bring the full scope of our surface technologies portfolio and integrate in a way that makes the economics of Saudi Aramco’s projects much more favorable,” he added.

The new facility will offer a broad range of manufacturing, aftermarket and training capabilities in-country, supporting the full TechnipFMC portfolio with its advanced technology and integrated systems in the drilling, completion, production, measurement and pressure control activities.
