Arabian Cement Co. said on Monday that the deadline for the construction of its cement mills in Rabigh will be pushed to the third quarter of 2019, as the contractor is not meeting the proposed schedule.
Commercial operations are expected to launch in Q4 next year, it said in a statement to Tadawul.
The project is currently 80 percent completed.
The delay will not cause any change in cost, and it won’t have any impact on the firm’s financial results, the cement producer said.
As for the second phase of building a clinker production line, the project is still under study and any developments will be revealed as they occur, the firm added.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Arabian Cement said in June that the cement mills will be finished n Q1 2019.
