Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz delivered an annual speech at the opening of the third year of the Shoura Council’s seventh session on Monday.
The King stressed upon a host of political and economic issues including the political situation in neighboring countries and oil markets.
King Salman said Saudi Arabia’s oil policy was based on cooperation and coordination with oil producers, and said that the Kingdom was working with OPEC and non-OPEC members to achieve market stability.
The King said he has asked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to focus on developing human resources and preparing young people for future jobs.
“Saudi citizens are the main engine of development in the country,” King Salman said.

Meanwhile, he added that he looks forward to continuing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom and Iraq.
On regional affairs, the King called for a political solution to the situation in Syria, and an end to terrorist organizations.
Commenting on Yemen, King Salman said the country's internationally-recognized government had agreed to participate in future peace talks in Sweden.
The King also voiced support for a political solution in Yemen, in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution and the GCC initiative.
He added that Iran had always intervened in the affairs of neighboring countries and sponsored terrorism, and urged the international community to put an end to Iranian activities, which threaten the security and stability of the region.
