Assets of Saudi investment funds slip 1% in Q3

The total value of assets held by investment funds in Saudi Arabia declined 1 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to SAR 117.9 billion in the third quarter of this year, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

The drop came due to a 2 percent QoQ fall in the total value of foreign assets and a 1 percent QoQ retreat in local assets.

Assets held by investment funds include local and foreign stocks, bonds, real estate investments and other assets.

 

The number of investment funds operating in the Kingdom stood at 264 in Q3 2018.

 

The number of subscribers jumped by 37 percent YoY to 326,900 for the third quarter.
