The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) on Wednesday has offered licenses for Internet of Things Virtual Network Operator (IoT-VNO) services for public and private service providers.
Under the IoT-VNO conditions, service providers will obtain a “Class A” IoT-VNO service license, the telecom regulator said in a statement.
Licensees are required to pay a “Class A” license issuance fee SAR five million, plus a one percent of net revenue annually.
The new licenses will enter into effect for ten years from the issuance date.
The IoT-VNO services will enable the automated communication between machines and devices using data SIM cards, embedded data SIM (eSIM) or any other future functional equivalent.
