The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) is currently working on a mechanism to guarantee the rights of subcontractors (small contractors) taking part in big projects, as usually most rights go to the main contractors, Al-Eqtisadiah reported, citing Osama Al Afaleq. SCA’s chairman.
The step is one of several suggestions to resolve funding issues in the sector, he said.
SCA presented 13 proposals to the Ministry of Finance, aiming to improve funding opportunities, including increasing the number of contractors granted loans with special terms, he added.
