Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) was shortlisted among other prequalified bidders to run the Citizen’s Account program, the Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development said in a statement on Wednesday.
Other prequalified firms included Elm Information Security, Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), Takamol Holding, Tamkeen Technologies, Pioneers Outsourcing Call Centers, and the Development and Consulting Services Institute at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
Another two companies were excluded, however, the ministry added without disclosing further details.
The ministry recently started a qualification process for private companies interested in managing and operating the program, Argaam reported earlier.
The Citizen’s Account aims to mitigate the direct and indirect impact on low and medium income households resulting from the ongoing economic reforms such as the gasoline price adjustment, the electricity tariffs adjustment, and value added tax (VAT).
