Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) has awarded the contract to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for lines 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro over a period of 12 years including the mobilization period to FLOW consortium, comprising Alstom, Ansaldo STS and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
The new contract takes the total value for the consortium to around SAR10.9 billion with the rolling stock and systems infrastructure maintenance representing more than €730 million, Alstom said in a statement on Tuesday.
The French train maker’s scope of work within the consortium includes the full maintenance of the transit system, including trains provided it for lines 3, 4, 5, 6 as well as fixed installations such as tracks, signaling, communication, passenger information systems and power supply.
FLOW will provide a comprehensive range of O&M services for lines 3, 4, 5 and 6 of total length of 113 kilometers and 50 stations including two main stations and five interchange stations, three depots and three OCCs.
The contract, as set by ADA, carries a minimum Saudization target of 45 percent and a minimum level of 55 percent for local content in the areas of supplies and services related to the Riyadh Metro operation, in addition to on-the-ground logistic support, the statement added.
