Saudi customs revenue reaches SAR 9.5 bln in H1

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Customs reported revenue of SAR 9.5 billion during the first half of 2018, excluding revenues from value-added tax (VAT) and selective tax.

 

The total value of imports from the top ten countries exporting to the Kingdom stood at about SAR 168.4 billion during the period, the customs authority spokesman Eisa Aleisa, cited by Al Eqtisadiyah newspaper.

 

China topped the list of countries exporting to Saudi Arabia in H1 at SAR 39 billion. The United States came second with SAR 35 billion, followed by the UAE and Germany at SAR 23 billion and SAR 14 billion, respectively.

 

Imports from India and France amounted to SAR 11 billion each, while those from Japan were SAR 10.5 billion.

 

South Korea followed with imports of SAR 10 billion, Italy at SAR 8 billion, and the United Kingdom with SAR 6 billion, Aleissa added.

 

Over 1.6 million customs declarations were issued, while 68 million tons of cargo and two million containers were received during H1, with value exceeding SAR 385 billion, as per data issued by the Customs Authority.
