The Saudi ministry of health has started granting business startup licenses online to healthcare facilities operating in 12 specific specializations.
The ministry said the move aims to facilitate business doing and cut the time and cost required for initiating a healthcare business.
The ministry said the business activities that can obtain licenses online include medical support centers and pharmacies.
“The step is aimed at restructuring the way business is done in the healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia,” a statement said.
The ministry had signed agreement with the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat), granting exemption from startup licensing fees to small and medium enterprises.
