Tadawul market cap drops 4% in August

The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) total market capitalization stood at SAR SAR 1.89 trillion in August, a decrease of 3.92 percent compared to previous month, according to data from the bourse.

Meanwhile, trading turnover dropped 25.90 percent to SAR 54.25 billion compared to July.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed the month of August at 7,948.25 points, shedding 346.58 points, or 4.18 percent month-on-month.

During the month, the index hit its highest level at 8,288.98 points on August 1.

The total number of shares traded reached 2.02 billion during the month, compared to 2.88 billion shares traded for the previous month, a decrease of 29.90 percent.
