Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE remained in the list of top five most popular destinations for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) travelers in the second quarter 2018, travel search engine Wego said in a recent report.
Egypt maintained its first position due to an increase in both leisure and business travelers from the region.
While Saudi Arabia slipped one spot to third place, it remained a popular destination among domestic and international visitors who travelled for business, leisure and Umrah purposes.
Turkey and the UAE held on to their fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Meanwhile, India was ranked second in Q2, up two places, driven by increase in Gulf-based Indian expats travelling to their home country during Ramadan or immediately afterwards.
Jordan stayed at the seventh spot, while Morocco was down one place to take the 10th place. Lebanon rose four places to reach the 11th spot.
European countries that have made to the list were the UK, Germany and Azerbaijan, the report added.
