A look at the Hajj pilgrimage over the years

The annual Hajj pilgrimage season in Saudi Arabia begins today as thousands of pilgrims travel to Makkah from inside and outside the Kingdom.

 

This year, close to two million pilgrims have registered to perform the pilgrimage.

Last year, a total of 600,000 pilgrims, or 26 percent of the total number of pilgrims, came for Hajj from inside the Kingdom. Meanwhile, 1.75 million pilgrims, accounting for 74 percent of the total, came from other countries.
